CT Consultants HQ - Mentor, Ohio
This sleek corporate headquarters for CT Consultants posed daunting challenges to the design team. How can a tall space with a clerestory be well-illuminated in Cleveland, Ohio, a city where daylight often disappoints? How can the lighting be energy efficient, congruent with architecture, and unobtrusive? The team of designers, including Richard L. Bowen's electrical engineer Greg Sutyak, and architect Roberto Pinedo collaborated with Art & Science Lighting Design to produce a warm, vivid lighting scheme employing luminous vertical sconces that appear to float on walls, and miniature 39 Watt MH Ceramic Arc PAR lamps that all but disappear in a series of black lighting batteries that ttraverse the ceiling. The lobby is sophisticated and inviting both in evenings and on Cleveland's dreariest mornings or afternoons.
